A day out in Southend and a walk down the longest leisure pier in the world. It is 1.3 miles long. Managed to get some pictures of Turnstones and Mediterranean Gulls.
It was very cloudy this morning so was not expecting to see the partial eclipse. But then for a brief few seconds it was visible.
Portsmouth 2 Luton Town 0. Another away game another defeat. A good day out slightly ruined by the football.
A visit to Tring Reservoirs, the female Scaup was on Startops Reservoir mainly asleep, a Grey Heron was on the canal bank and a Pair of Grey Wagtail were along the shoreline of the reservoir.
This is a good place to see Goosander and Mandarin ducks. There were 4 Goosander and 3 Mandarin on this visit. Also saw Marsh Tit and Stonechat.
First destination for the day was Lynford Arboretum. On a rather nice sunny but quite cold morning I saw a Hawfinch within a few minutes of arrival along with a couple of Brambling, Marsh Tits and Siskins. I then went to Mayday Farm and saw about 9 Woodlark. Here are a few photos of Woodlark taken today.
