Another visit to the superb Frampton Marsh RSPB reserve. I had gone to see the Pectoral Sandpiper that had been found there yesterday. I managed to see this early morning and whilst I was there a Broad-billed Sandpiper was found. Although only the third Broad-billed Sandpiper I have ever seen it was the second I have seen at this reserve this year!
Two nights in Aviemore came next, where we got the funicular railway to the summit of Cairn Gorm to look for ptarmigan. We were going to meet Danny in York on the way back home. As I had missed Black Grouse at Tulloch Moor I decided to stop at a site for them near Dunkeld on the way south. Almost immediately that we turned on the minor road here I spotted one in the field next to the road. Best views i have ever had of one!
