Having spent last weekend in Cornwall hoping to see the Pacific Diver that has been wintering there for the last 10 years in Mount’s Bay and failing it was nice to get another chance to see one today in Northumberland. A long drive but a successful outcome seeing the bird on Ladyburn Lake, Druridge Country Park. Nice fish and chips in Amble as well.

A weekend in Cornwall birding. Best birds were Eastern Black Redstart at Mousehole, Chough at Cape Cornwall, Hudsonian Whimbrel at Perranuthnoe, Green-winged Teal and Spoonbill at Hayle and Lesser Scaup at Dozmary Pool. St Michael’s Mount was spectacular in the early morning light today.

14/1/2017 A nice sunny,frosty morning at Lynford Arboretum seeing Hawfinch, lots of Siskins, Marsh Tits etc.. Then on to Thetford where I saw juvenile Glaucous and Iceland Gulls. Welney for Bewick and Whooper Swans and a Barn Owl.

7/1/2016 A trip to Dungeness on a dull day. Highlights :- Stejnegers Stonechat ( try pronouncing that one! ), Long-eared Owl, Ring-necked Duck and a Red-necked Grebe at nearby Camber Sands.

2/1/2017 Started the day in north Norfolk and ended the day at Rutland Water. Plenty of good birds seen at Titchwell and a nice male Hen Harrier sat in a field near Docking. The juvenile Surf Scoter was seen at Rutland Water. Some poor record shots below.
