A lunchtime dash to Brogborough Lake to see the Leachs Petrel that was found there this morning. An unusual inland record for this seabird, although it is the second one I have seen at this site.

Priory Country Park Bedford & Norfolk 2/2/2013
Started the day early with a trip out to Priory Country Park to see the drake Ferruginous Duck and Black Necked Grebe that have been there for the last week.
I then went home picked my son Michael up and we went to Norfolk for the weekend. We went to Buckenham RSPB to see the Taiga Bean Geese, to Haddiscoe for a Rough Legged Buzzard and then onto Stubb Mill, Hickling Broad where I saw 2 Hen Harriers, numerous Marsh Harriers and a Merlin come into roost.
We also had time to go to Winterton so my son could take pictures and video of the lighthouse there which he will post to his website worldwidelighthouses.com and youtube.

Norwich City 0 Luton Town 1
What a day! Luton go through to the last 16 of the F A Cup after beating premiership Norwich City. My son Danny came down from Hull Uni and met us in Norwich for the game. An unbelievable result and we are all over the papers today. Here are some pictures from the day, my son is sporting a colourful hairstyle and he also caught JJ O’Donells shirt when he threw it into the Luton crowd.
F A Cup Norwich City v Luton Town
Off to Norwich tomorrow to see the mighty Luton Town in the F A Cup. Norwich City are a premiership side, Luton are currently playing in the Blue Square Conference 5 leagues below the host side. Should be a good day out, Luton sold their allocation of 4000 tickets very quickly and could have sold many more.
Nice to see a Fieldfare in the garden today.
