Whilst on a visit to York ,in February, to see the university we visited York Train Museum where Tim Peake’s Spacecraft was on show. It was surprisingly small for 3 astronauts to travel back to earth in.
Snowy Owl
The Snowy Owl showed well at Snettisham RSPB today. Did not think I was going to see it when it was not seen at Thornham early on but luckily it was re-found at the end of Snettisham RSPB reserve late morning. I was therefore able to see the bird and get back earlier enough to take my mum out for Mother’s Day.

Horned Lark
Dungeness
A mainly grey and quite cold day at Dungeness. Best birds were Glaucous and Caspian Gulls, pair of Smew, Black-throated Diver, Tree Sparrows and Great White Egret. There were 1000’s of Guillemots, 100’s of Great-crested Grebes and quite a few Red-throated Divers offshore of the fishing boats.

Newcastle United 3 Luton Town 1
We joined 7500+ Luton supporters in Newcastle for this F A cup game. The game was won by Newcastle in a ten minute spell in the first half when they scored 3 goals. Luton played well in the second half when they scored an early goal, had another incorrectly disallowed and hit the bar from a free kick.

Ruddy Duck
A rare sight these days since the DEFRA cull. They almost wiped them out but there are still a few left, this one was at Wilstone Reservoir today.

Airlander 10
Coming back from an unsuccessful trip to Pitsford Reservoir for a Corys Shearwater we stopped off at the impressive Cardington Hangars to see Airlander 10 the worlds biggest airliner. It is 92 metres long and weighs 20 tonnes. A few days later it broke free from its mooring and crashed into a field injuring two people. Cardington hangars are massive and can be seen from some distance when driving on the A421 near Bedford.

Crewe Alexandra 1 Luton Town 2
A good result that kept us top of League 2.
